Attendance and Punctuality

A huge thank you to all our families who value good attendance and punctuality. We truly appreciate your efforts in getting your children to school on time each day, helping them make the most of every learning opportunity.

Our whole-school attendance target is 97% or Above, and together we can achieve it!

Our Attendance Vision Statement

From the first day of term to the last, the small moments in a school day shape a child’s future. Each day is filled with curiosity, wonder, connection and opportunities to grow. Regular attendance and punctuality ensure that every child can fully experience these moments and make the most of all that school has to offer.

Good attendance is vital - not only for academic success, but for building positive habits that last a lifetime. When children attend regularly, they develop strong friendships, deepen important life skills, and engage in rich learning that helps them flourish both now and in the future.

Our school culture is rooted in kindness, inclusivity, ambition and happiness. Guided by our code of conduct - Be Kind, Work Hard and Never Give Up - we create a nurturing and aspirational environment where every child feels welcomed, valued and motivated to be their best. These values underpin our approach to attendance, helping pupils build resilience, positive relationships and a strong sense of belonging.

We are committed to working in genuine partnership with parents and carers, recognising that strong relationships between home and school are essential to supporting every child. Together, we promote high expectations for attendance, with a shared target of 97% or above for all pupils.

Through this shared commitment, every child can access the education, opportunities and stability they need to thrive. Regular attendance enables pupils to grow in confidence, broaden their aspirations and reach their full potential. By being present - day after day - and by being kind, working hard and never giving up, children develop the foundations for lifelong achievement, wellbeing and happiness.

The Wirral #EveryDayCounts Campaign

The Wirral #EveryDayCounts campaign is a joint initiative led by Wirral Council, working together with schools, community organisations, and local partners to improve school attendance and help every child achieve their best.

We’re asking parents and carers to support their children in attending school every day, and to reach out for advice or support if regular attendance becomes difficult.

The letter below outlines Wirral Council’s approach to school attendance and enforcement from September 2025
