Equality Objectives

Equality objectives relate to any of the three aims of the public sector equality duty which are:

• Eliminating discrimination and other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act

• Advancing equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and  people who do not share it

• Fostering good relations across all characteristics – between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not.

The equality objectives link to the Pupil Premium Strategy.

1.  To reduce the achievement gap in English and Mathematics between disadvantaged pupils (and those with protected characteristics) and their peers by 10% over the next three academic years.

2. To raise attendance rates and decrease persistent absence among pupils with SEN, minority ethnic backgrounds, children known to social care and children in care, bringing them in line with whole-school averages. 

3.  To increase overall pupil participation in extracurricular enrichment clubs by 15%, with targeted strategy ensuring that participation rates for disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND, and specific protected characteristic groups mirror whole-school demographics by the end of the academic year.

4. To continue to celebrate diversity in all its forms by reviewing the curriculum across all key stages to ensure diverse cultures, histories, disabilities, and family structures are meaningfully represented by the end of the academic year.
