Message from our Headteacher

18th March 2020
Good morning All,

As you are aware we are facing very difficult times with the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

I want to reassure you all that we are following all government advice and doing our best to remain positive and keep the school open for as long as possible.

We currently have over 20% of children absent who again are showing symptoms or are having to self-isolate due to family illness. We would ask that you contact the school if you are keeping your children off so that our records are maintained.

My main concern is that you do what is right for your child and your family, taking into account the current government advice. If in doubt, please play on the safe side and keep your children at home.

We currently have 30 staff who are self-isolating because they have symptoms or are in the vulnerable group. Our reduced staffing levels is causing organisational difficulties which we are doing our best to overcome.

Staff are currently preparing packs for home learning providing a range of activities including a variety of online resources with appropriate login information.

Whilst the government have not yet indicated that schools should close, we do expect this will happen and are preparing for this eventuality.

Class Dojo will be our main means of communication; PLEASE ENSURE you are connected to your child's class. If not, or you need help/support, please contact the school as soon as possible.

Please check Dojo, Twitter and the website daily for any updated information.

During this challenging and unprecedented time we appreciate your support.

If at any time you need any help or support, please do not hesitate to contact the school. We will always do our best to help, even if we are closed.

Look after yourselves and please check on any vulnerable family, friends and neighbours. Stay strong and positive.

Rose Littler, Headteacher.
