Key Worker Information

20th March 2020

Good morning All,

The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

The government has asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.

The fewer children we have in school, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect others, i.e. children, staff and vulnerable individuals in wider society.

Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.

Please, therefore, follow these key principles:

  • If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be.
  • If a child needs specialist support, is vulnerable or has a parent who is a critical worker, then care will be available for them.
  • Parents should also do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

We will provide care for those children who need it.

Priority places will be given to front-line workers who have no alternative care provision.

Please let us know ASAP if you feel you fit into the essential workforce group and have no alternative provision.

Proof of employment, e.g. ID card, payslip or letter from your employer will be required.

We need to know:

  • Parents name & Role
  • Parents email address and mobile contact no.
  • Child(ren)’s name(s) and class

If you have already provided your information but do not fit into the category as defined above or have alternative care available to you, e.g. another parent who is not a front-line worker, please let us know ASAP.

Thank you.
