From Daughter to Woman Talk

5th September 2019

Dear Parents/Carers,

Kim McCabe, author of ‘From Daughter to Woman’ and founder of Rites for Girls, will be giving a talk in the Main Hall, Hilbre High School on ‘Parenting your child through the teen years’ on Thursday 26th September 2019 at 7.00pm.

The teenage years can be tough – for teens and for parents, but it is also a wonderfully interesting stage of life.  These fickle and often frustrating young people can transform into the visionaries and creators of an inspiring future.  Kim aims to help parents embrace the potential of their child’s teenage years by marking this time of growing maturity and celebrating it with them.  Kim will share with us what she has learnt working with preteens and teenagers, as well as some easy-to-implement practical suggestions and food for thought.

She will also discuss ‘Girls Journeying Together’ groups, aimed at pre-teen girls in Years 6/7 who meet monthly for a year.  Belonging to a Girls Journeying Together group during puberty can be enormously supportive to mothers and daughters alike.

Tickets for this talk, which is expected to last around one hour followed by time for questions, are available via Eventbrite for £5 (plus a small booking fee that Eventbrite charge).  Space is limited for this event so please book early via this link:

Local bookseller, Linghams will also be in attendance if anyone wishes to purchase a copy of Kim’s book on the night.  Kim is happy to sign copies at the end of the event.

We hope you can make it to what promises to be an informative and interesting evening.
