Dear Parents/Carers,

It was great to see so many children in school yesterday. Most seemed really pleased to be back at school. We were extremely lucky that we had the majority of staff working in school. This was not the case for many other schools. All the children were very welcoming, particularly Rosie and Heidi.

After the announcement by the Prime Minister last night I followed the advice from the National Association of Headteachers to close the school to pupils today. This was not an easy decision to make but the staff needed the time to organise remote learning which will start tomorrow (Wednesday). Resource packs are being produced to support some of our younger children with their learning.

This lockdown is very different to the previous one where schools were required to provide childcare. Staff will provide learning remotely for children staying at home as well as teaching children who are coming into school. Staff will be keeping a register to check for children who are not engaging learning. Where this is the case contact will be made with you to find out the reasons and resolve any issues.

Staff are happy to receive and answer messages from you during working hours (9.00 am - 5.00 pm). They will make every effort to respond by the next school day. I appreciate that at the moment we are working in an ever changing situation and we will keep you updated as much as possible.

Thank you for your patience and support.

Stay safe.

Sue Talbot
