29th January 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

I know that the lockdown is taking its toll on all of us. It will be wonderful when we can return to some kind of normality.

Remote Learning
The staff have been working hard providing remote learning for the children. I have been looking on dojo and have seen some amazing work and presentations. Thank you to the children and anyone at home who has participated.

There are a few children that have not accessed remote learning yet. Members of SLT have been contacting these families to provide any necessary support. We have sent home over 150 laptops to access learning. If your child is accessing learning on a phone rather than a laptop or tablet please let the class teacher know.

Awards Friday
Staff will be giving out awards to celebrate the excellent effort and work of the children. I will be distributing Headteacher Awards both physically and virtually (so watch out for them on dojo).

INSET Day
The school will be closed to pupils on Friday 12th February for staff training.

February Half Term (15th - 19th)
You will have heard the announcement by the Prime Minister that schools will be closed to pupils over half term. I am aware that many of our parents are NHS workers and may struggle to make arrangements. We are looking at the possibility of offering childcare from 8.00 - 17.00 for a limited number of children whose parents/carers are NHS workers. There will be a cost for this provision. If you are interested please email the school office no later than Wednesday February 3rd 2021. If there is not enough take up the childcare will not run.

School Meals
Thank you for your understanding around the arrangements for school meals this week. I appreciate that many of you felt that you had little notice to provide a packed lunch on Monday. Sorry for the stress and inconvenience. Covid-19 test results are released at random times which is unhelpful when planning staffing for school days. The Catering staff will return on Tuesday so they will be able to resume a normal service then.

Stay safe,
Sue
