Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for providing your child(ren) with packed lunches at short notice. I appreciate that this was difficult for some of you and really appreciate your support. Yesterday, early evening, a member of the catering team reported to school that she was experiencing symptoms of the Coronavirus. Advice was sought from Public Health (which took some time). The whole team was asked to self isolate as a precaution until the test results are known. Please be assured that the health and wellbeing of the children and staff are paramount at this time.

We have organised a small team of suitably qualified staff to step in and provide meals for the children this week. From tomorrow all children who normally have a school meal will be able to have one. Unfortunately the school will not be able to offer a hot meal this week.

A Year 4 pod is self isolating due to a member of staff testing positive.

Please can I ask you to work with us and remind your child(ren) about the importance of regular hand washing, sanitising and social distancing (age appropriate).

Miss Moran has produced a page on the website about the school's approach to remote learning. When you have a minute please take the opportunity to have a look. The video provides examples of how we are working with parents/carers and the children. Please follow the link below:

On Friday Mrs Brear and I visited classrooms to give out Headteacher's awards. As a school team we felt it was important to have nominations from children who are working at home, so many children received virtual awards. It was lovely to see the work the children had produced and meet children both in class or online.

Take care,

Sue
